My Daughters Are Helping Me Share SEEN

Jada and Maliyah are helping Dad spread the word about SEEN.

That deserves a moment of its own.

There’s a book update to share, and I’ll get to that. But first, I want to make room for the family part of this story. My daughters are helping share something that matters to me. In the middle of manuscripts, formatting, and everything that goes into bringing a book toward release, this is a moment I don’t want to rush past.

There is a person behind the book

When you see a book announcement, you see a title, a cover, and a next step. What you don’t always see is the person bringing it into the world.

For me, that person isn’t only an author. I’m also Dad.

Those parts of my life don’t need to compete. But moments like this remind me not to let the work become the only part of the story I pay attention to.

It would be easy to treat this video as another piece of promotion and move straight to the next task. I want to recognize it as something more personal: Jada and Maliyah taking part in sharing SEEN.

Not everything meaningful comes with a big announcement. Sometimes it is a short video and the people you love helping you carry a message a little further.

Identity before performance starts close to home

SEEN asks a question that reaches beyond work, recognition, and what we accomplish: who are we underneath all of it?

It explores identity, belonging, purpose, faith, and the things we carry where nobody can see them.

That message would be incomplete if it only applied to the people who read the book. It has to matter in the way we see the people closest to us, too.

Our families are not background characters in whatever we are building. They are people with lives, voices, and identities of their own.

And being present with them matters, even when there is important work waiting to be done.

This moment is a reminder to me: appreciate the people, not just the progress. Let the relationship matter apart from what it contributes to the project.

Where SEEN stands right now

The final manuscript has been approved, and we are now in the formatting stage.

That is a meaningful step forward. It is not the same as saying the book has been released or that copies are ready to ship.

Signed copies are available for preorder. The preorder package includes a SEEN bookmark, a personalized card, and custom SEEN packaging.

Preorder customers will receive their signed author copies after the book is officially released and author copies become available. Release and shipping updates will be communicated directly to preorder customers.

I want the invitation to be clear: you are reserving your copy ahead of release, not ordering a book that is already on its way.

For the person underneath everything you carry

You can be doing well on paper and still have questions about who you are.

You can carry responsibility, meet expectations, and keep showing up while feeling that people know your role better than they know you.

SEEN makes room for that person. The one underneath the title, the recognition, the pressure, and the need to prove something.

The book follows my journey through rejection, achievement, leadership, faith, family, and the pressure to perform. It asks what remains when the things we use to establish our worth are taken away.

Because identity was never supposed to begin with performance.

That is the message Jada and Maliyah are helping me share. And I’m grateful to include this family moment in the journey toward release.

Help us share the message

You can also help Jada, Maliyah, and me spread the word. If someone came to mind while you were reading, send them this article or share the video.

Not because you need to explain their life to them. Simply because the reminder might meet them where they are.
