A Humble, Persistent, High Performance Leader — A Story About Stephen Miller

The following is a leadership story shared by Daniel Rake, Quality Manager, about his experience being led by Stephen Miller.

I had the opportunity to work for Stephen Miller for two years as a quality manager. Stephen was my site lead. He genuinely cares about every member of his team. He works hard to ensure they have the resources they need while not micromanaging their daily work. By his example, he invites his team to work hard for the teams’ success. He has high expectations and expects his team to let him know when they need help. When those times come, he listens and asks questions to determine the best way toward the solution. He enjoys celebrating the teams’ success with his team, and he will work with team members to ensure they succeed. Stephen is always thinking about how to resolve issues, but also thinking about the effect on the team. He is a humble, persistent, high performance boss that makes those around him believe they can always overcome the next obstacle.
