The Moment My Grandson Realized the Book Was About Him

Some moments in life are bigger than you expect them to be.

Recently, my grandson sat down and saw a children's book for the first time — a book that, in many ways, was written because of him.

He's only three years old.

But as he started flipping through the pages, something incredible happened.

He began pointing at the illustrations. Looking closer at the character. Connecting the dots.

And then you could see it on his face.

He realized the story was about him.

Not just a character in a book.

Him.

Watching that moment unfold was something I'll never forget.

There's something powerful about the way children see the world. Their understanding is honest and unfiltered. They don't overthink things the way adults do. They simply recognize truth when they see it.

And in that moment, he saw himself in a story meant to remind him of something important.

That he is loved. That he matters. That who he is was never an accident.

Moments like that remind me why the things we create matter.

Not because they become popular. Not because they sell.

But because sometimes the things we build today become seeds planted in the next generation.

Seeds of confidence.

Seeds of identity.

Seeds of faith.

Watching my grandson engage with that story reminded me that the most meaningful work we do in life often has very little to do with recognition.

Sometimes it simply means giving the next generation something to hold onto — a reminder of who they are and where their worth comes from.

As a grandfather, that moment meant more to me than I can put into words.

And it reminded me of something I believe deeply:

When we invest in the hearts and minds of children early, we help shape the way they see themselves for the rest of their lives.

That's a legacy worth building.

A Message for the Next Generation

The book my grandson is reading in the video is called God Loves Me Just As I Am.

It was created to help children understand a simple but powerful truth:

Their worth doesn't come from the world.

It comes from God.

And sometimes the most powerful reminder of that truth begins with a simple story.

A Moment I'll Always Remember

Watching my grandson connect with that story for the first time was one of those moments you wish you could freeze forever.

Because sometimes the most important things we build in life aren't for ourselves.

They're for the ones who come after us.
