The Power of Perception: Stephen Miller on the Men's Roundtable Series
Recently, I had the honor of joining an incredible panel of men and leaders on the Men's Roundtable Series (MRTS), led by the insightful Mista Yu. The topic? The Power of Perception — and how what we believe shapes everything from our identity to our leadership.
It was a raw, honest conversation about how perception drives behavior, distorts reality, and quietly determines the trajectory of our lives.
What We Explored:
We talked about the gap between perception and truth — how men often make decisions based on what they think is happening rather than what's actually real. We discussed how unresolved emotions like pride, fear, and insecurity act as filters that cloud our judgment, and how most conflict isn't about facts but about competing perceptions of intent and value.
The conversation went deep into identity — how a man perceives himself (capable or inadequate, leader or follower) sets the ceiling for his life. We explored the tension between seeking external validation and staying aligned with internal convictions, and how cultural narratives about masculinity shape us in ways we don't always recognize.
We also talked about leadership, faith, and purpose — how others perceive our consistency and integrity, how our perception of God influences our resilience, and what it means to reframe perception for growth instead of letting ego or comfort dictate our direction.
Why This Matters for Wear Your Worship:
This conversation is at the heart of what we do. Our Perception ≠ Truth tee exists because of this exact tension — the reminder that how things appear isn't always how they are, and that truth anchored in Christ is what sets us free.
When we wear our faith, we're not just making a statement. We're choosing to align our perception with God's truth about who we are — seen, known, loved, and called.
