The Woman Who Never Left
There are moments in life that become symbols.
This picture — standing at the Rocky Steps in Philadelphia — is one of those moments for me.
Most people see a husband and wife smiling in front of an iconic landmark.
I see something different.
I see years.
I see sacrifice.
I see commitment.
I see a woman who has stood beside me through seasons when neither of us could see what the future would hold.
What the World Doesn't See
When people look at accomplishments, they see the person standing in front.
What they don't see is the person standing beside them.
For me, that person has always been my wife, Laquanda.
She has been there through career changes, military experiences, family challenges, leadership responsibilities, business dreams, book launches — and through moments when life felt heavier than I wanted to admit.
She has celebrated victories.
She has carried burdens.
She has encouraged me when I doubted myself.
She has reminded me who I was when I forgot.
The truth is simple: none of us become who we're called to be alone.
Behind every strong leader is someone who helped carry the weight when nobody else knew it existed. Behind every dream pursued is someone who sacrificed comfort so that vision could keep moving forward. Behind every milestone is someone who kept believing — even when the milestone felt impossible.
What Philadelphia Meant
This weekend in Philadelphia was significant.
A Guinness World Record attempt. A legacy project. New relationships. New opportunities. A bigger vision for what God may be building through SEEN.
But as I stood there reflecting on everything that brought me to that moment, something became clear.
The greatest blessing wasn't the event.
It wasn't the recognition.
It wasn't the accomplishment.
It was knowing that the same woman who stood beside me years ago — through the hard seasons, the uncertain seasons, the seasons when the dream was just a whisper — was still standing beside me today.
That doesn't happen by accident.
That's faithfulness.
What Marriage Is Actually Built On
Faithfulness is rare.
Loyalty is valuable.
Partnership is powerful.
Marriage isn't built on perfect days. It's built on choosing each other on the hard days. The uncertain days. The days when dreams feel distant and life feels heavy and all you can do is keep putting one foot in front of the other.
This photo reminds me that success means very little if you have nobody to share it with.
Laquanda has been more than a spouse.
She has been a partner. A supporter. A friend. A source of strength. And one of God's greatest gifts in my life.
A Simple Thank You
So today, I simply want to say thank you.
Thank you for the sacrifices nobody saw.
Thank you for the prayers you prayed when I didn't know I needed them.
Thank you for the encouragement when I was ready to quit.
Thank you for staying.
Thank you for believing.
Thank you for continuing this journey with me.
The world may see the milestones.
I see the woman who helped make them possible.
I love you. Always. ❤️
