What It Means to Lead with Integrity — A Story About Stephen Miller

The following is a leadership story shared by Robyn Brookins, Sr. Logistics Management Analyst, about her experience being led by Stephen Miller.

Stephen Miller is one of the best leaders I've had the privilege of working for. Shortly after he hired me at Lockheed Martin, I experienced an unexpected family challenge. As a new employee, I wasn't sure how I was going to balance my responsibilities at work with what was happening at home. Rather than seeing it as a problem, Miller found a solution. He made sure I had the tools and flexibility I needed to continue doing my job while supporting my family.

What has always stood out to me is his ability to balance accountability with genuine empathy. He sets high expectations, but he also understands that life happens and that investing in people brings out their best.

Because of his leadership, I felt trusted, supported, and motivated to succeed. He leads with integrity, compassion, and authenticity, and he creates an environment where people genuinely want to give their best. The impact he had on me professionally is something I'll always appreciate, and I believe his approach to leadership is one that others can learn from.
